One of my #leatherworking projects from a class at Tandy Leather. This was a carving I did on a round piece of leather. It took me a while to do it and was lucky enough to have one on one instruction as I needed guidance on how to use the tools properly. I learned how to use a stylus to trace a pattern from paper to leather, a swivel knife to make surface cuts in the leather, a beveler to define the edges, a backgrounder to push the background down, a pear shader to define the leaves and petals, a veiner to define the stem and leaves, [the camoflager for the stem texture,] and a seeder for making the seeds.
I then dyed the flower pattern after the class was over with dye markers. I dyed the background royal blue, the flower petals red, the seeds yellow, and the leaves/stems green.
